Tim is a bass player, music producer and improvising musician with a keen interest in native birds and fascination with sonic experience.
He began his career in 2002, under the casual mentorship of the legendary Jackie Orszaczky, kicking about Sydney with Clayton and Lachy Doley, and finding himself playing with some of the young singer/songwriters of Sydney. In this time, he performed with Tim Freedman, Carla Werner, Daniel Johnston, and ABCTV’s Athena Sideshow. His broad passion for varied genres has led him to forge a career as improviser, sound designer and performer. In 2013 he produced Ngaiire's critically acclaimed LP Lamentations which saw him further his reputation as both a music producer and sound designer.
In 2018 he made the move to Melbourne, and immediately began touring with Australian rock royalty Ross Wilson and ARIA award winners Killing Heidi. He has been a regular member of Melbourne institution ‘Uncomfortable Science’ since 2017. He is often seen performing around Melbourne with his live-improvised soundscape project “Dry People Play Wet Music”, with his impro-rock band Dingbats?!, and numerous other projects. Most recently he has performed with US pop artist Anastacia on her Melbourne show, as well as guitar legends Jimi Hocking, Geoff Achison and Kathleen Halloran as TripleFret.
He has written, produced and engineered many other recordings with numerous artists and production projects in Sydney, based out of Typewriter Studios, Blackfoot Sound and most recently Turning Studios.
Some of his productions have featured on US and Australian TV productions, including Mistresses, Power, Rosewood, Good News Week and The Moodys.
