Tim is a bass player, music producer and improvising musician with a keen interest in native birds and fascination with sonic experience.
He began his career in 2002, kicking about Sydney with Clayton and Lachy Doley, finding himself playing with soul acts alongside some of the young singer/songwriters of Sydney. His experience within multiple genres has led him to forge a career as improviser, sound designer and performer. In 2013 he produced Ngaiire's critically acclaimed LP Lamentations which saw him further his reputation as both a music producer and sound designer. In 2018 he made the move to Melbourne, seeking to simply create more varied music.
He is currently touring nationally with Ross Wilson, Leah Flanagan and trumpeter/songwriter Audrey Powne whilst playing locally with piano player James Bowers' trio, He has been a regular member of Melbourne institution ‘Uncomfortable Science’ since 2017. Pre-COVID, He was often seen performing around Melbourne with his live-improvised soundscape project “Dry People Play Wet Music”, with his impro-rock band Dingbats?!, and numerous other projects.
He has written, produced and engineered many other recordings with numerous artists and production projects in Sydney, based out of Typewriter Studios, Blackfoot Sound and most recently Turning Studios.
Some of his productions have featured on US and Australian TV productions, including Mistresses, Power, Rosewood, Good News Week and The Moodys.
